It is with great sadness that we communicate the death of Bishop Emmanuel of Kajo Keji, who died of a stroke on Wednesday 7th December.
This was the message from Archbishop Justin Badi:
‘It is with heavy heart that we announce the untimely passing on of our beloved brother, The Rt Rev Emmanuel Murye Modi, the Diocesan bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Kajo Keji. He was brought from his diocese to Juba and yesterday flown to Nairobi, but before the Doctors could work on him, the situation worsened and he gave up his life by 5.00 am this morning. Pray for his wife and Archbishop Paul Yugusuk who are arranging to bring his remains back to Juba.
”Be on guard! Be alert! You do not know when that time will come.” (Mark 13:33)’
Rev’d Pauline Walker, CASSS Co-Chair, who was in Nairobi at the time said,
‘Bishop Emmanuel was still young. We think he had a stroke yesterday and we were praying he would recover. He was trained up by Bishop Anthony Poggo to take over from him to lead Kajo-Keji Diocese and he was doing a very good job. Please can we all pray for Emmanuel’s family, friends, colleagues and the whole Diocese as they absorb this news and trust God for now and for the future.’
May His Soul Rest in Peace and Rise in Glory!
