Dear All,
Merry Christmas and Joyful New Year 2021.
As we reach the end of 2020, a candle of hope gleams brightly in the darkness of South Sudan, its light signaling hope and consolation in these difficult times. This year, as the COVID-19 pandemic, historic flooding and displacement have impacted South Sudan, we have learned more than ever the importance of hope and solidarity. In this spirit, let us share our own light with one another this holiday season, by supporting each other, by bridging distances, and by traveling new roads together. “The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light. For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government shall rest on his shoulders.” (Isaiah 9:2;6).
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 2021; singing Alleluia to the Lord who is our Saviour; born and wrapped in strips of cloth and laid in a manager, because there was no lodging available for them in the hotel. (cf. Luke 2:12).
May the Christmas festivities give our hearts a reason to forgive, to love, to understand, to reconcile, to embrace one another, to accept one another, to pray and make all of us advocates for peace, and make all our lives more peaceful and joyful.
In faith and service,
